Day 13/40: PUT YOUR HEART INTO IT

So let's just cut to the chase, success does not come just because you are a good person, nor does it come because you are a Christian.  If you are to see success in your life, you are going to have to learn to put your heart into everything you do.  When your mind and body want to give up and quit, it is the passion in your heart that will keep you driving forward to the fulfillment of your dreams and God's plans for your life.

I have lived this way all my life, no great super gifts, no spectacular abilities, I just decided a long time ago that I would have a faith in my life that would never take "NO" for an answer.  I have seen myself at the point of total physical exhaustion, only to hear the Holy Spirit whisper in my heart, "I have given you strength to make this happen."

Jesus never said you need a lot of faith, he simply said you need faith as a grain of mustard seed and you can say to a mountain, be removed, and it will do what you tell it to do.  Your heart, if you listen to it, is what will keep saying over and over again, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  You must have a faith in your heart that says, "I will not live under the curse of the law, but I will live in the blessing of the Abrahamic Covenant, that is upon my life today."

Several year ago, I was wrapping up a crusade in Africa and had a few days at the end to just enjoy some sightseeing around the country.  Africa is an amazing place, not just because of the beauty of the countries within the continent, but the people and the history.  This trip, I was on the border of the country of Zambia and Zimbabwe, a place where the famous Victoria Falls is found.  I stood at the shores of the Zambezi river and was in awe of the fact that I was standing at a place that as I child I had studied in the history and geography classes at school.

My most incredible experience however, was not the falls, nor the rivers, hippos or lions, it was a place my african friend took me that I will never forget.  He led me to a place where the heart of David Livingston is buried at the edge of Victoria Falls.  Never have I felt anything quite like the feeling I felt that day, and when you study the life of David Livingston, you will know even more why this was so awesome.

The Bible says "whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all your might."  David Livingston laid down his life and gave his whole heart to do what God had called him to do and changed the Continent of Africa because he gave his all.

Everybody wants to succeed in life, to do well, to become hopefully independently wealthy and be able to pursue their dreams, but not everybody will push themselves past the physical limitations to pursue something with their whole heart.  Don't get me wrong, your motives and purpose's must be pure, upright and line up with the Word of God, that's the highest priority for success, but second, your heart is so much more than an organ in your body, it is the seat of your emotions, where all passion is derived from.  When you put your heart into something, and that something is in line with God's purposes with your life, then you will succeed!

We have all seen those people who do things half way, with no passion or drive behind it.  Somewhere they lost it or maybe never had it, but for sure, they will never obtain God's best when they only give their least.  This is reflected in every area of a Christians life.  It's in your praise, is it passionate or pathetic? Is it in your giving? Is it obedient and generous or is it minimal? Is it in your faith? Is it hesitant or is it explosive? Believing God for bigger things than ever before in your life?

The Bible has a lot to say about laziness and slothfulness, it tells us to go to the ant, "thou sluggard" consider its ways and be wise.  That's because God knows, ants never quit.  They don't stop in the middle of a great project and give up, they relentlessly work until the task is completed.

So today, even if the task is not for your own dream, put your heart into it, because if you do, God will give you the strength to pursue what you are believing for.  If you will help make someone else's miracle come to pass, God will surely help to make yours come to pass.

Your passion, like David Livingston's can change the world if you will not give up!
