Day 11/40: IN HIS TIME

One of the great lessons I have learned in life, is to learn to wait for God's timing and not try to push something through because of my own agenda.  The Bible says "be anxious for nothing, but in everything give thanks for this is the Will of God."  The carnal nature lives in the realm of I want it and I want it now, and it is derived from that insatiable quest for more when God sometimes just wants you to learn to WAIT!

If you have ever watched a child in a toy store screaming relentlessly because they want something and the mother or father is adamant, standing their ground and refusing to give in to the child's temper tantrum.  It is this same way with God.  Sometimes we think we need something so bad, and like a child, we act childish in our faith and get mad if God doesn't give us what we want when we want it, without trusting in the perfect timing of God.

He knows what we need and when we need it, and from God's perspective, which is much clearer in focus than ours, He also knows if something comes to us in the wrong timing, it can be detrimental to us.  Throughout the Bible, we read of the great men and women of God that had to learn to wait until they were promoted to their positions, because long before promotion there must first be a pattern of faithful obedience.  In the same way you would not put the car keys in the hands of a toddler, God knows at what time we are ready for the things we desire.

True Faith and Trust in God is learning to wait for God's perfect timing, be it for a spouse, or a house, you want to know that you have God's best.

Many years ago, when I first began to Pastor, I took a position in a smaller Church where the salary was just above starvation.  I had just graduated from a faith school, all ready for the ministry, miracles, signs and wonders, yet wasn't making enough money to barely survive.  This is where I had to learn to trust God in everything.  Rather than driving a school bus to earn extra money to make up the difference that I lacked while in the ministry, I took my one day off a week and learned to build.  Working with a skilled carpenter I always said, I will build Churches one day and I always had a dream to build my own home.

You see, what I didn't know, is that 20 years before I built my first Church, God was preparing me with the skills and the understanding for what He would have me to do in the future.  Every dream I had, eventually came to pass, but it didn't come immediately, it took time and patience.  Timing is everything to God because He is a God of timing.  He knows the exact time He will send His Son Jesus to return, He knows the end from the beginning, and if we will live our lives in absolutely trust in His Time, then we will see come to pass the revelation of the verse "He makes all things beautiful, in His time."

In everything today, give Him thanks, thank Him for the plan He is unfolding before your life even right now, for what He is about to bring into your life and for what He will enable you to accomplish in the days, weeks, months and even years to come until He returns.

There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven.  Ecclesiastes 1:1
